Dr. Panagiotis Spapis received his diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Patras, Greece, 2008. In 2015, he received his PhD from the Department of Informatics & Telecommunications of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. His research focused on learning-enhanced situation awareness and perception in future wireless networks. Since 2008 he has served as researcher at the Software Centric & Autonomic Networking (SCAN) group of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where he has participated in numerous research projects funded by the European Union or by industrial partners (namely, E3, Self-NET, Univerself, CONSERN, FI-PPP SmartAgriFood, SACRA, METIS 2020). In Univerself and METIS projects, apart from the research activities he has undertaken managerial roles (i.e., task force leader in Univerself and task leader in METIS 2020). His main research interests lie in the area of context aware, learning enhanced mechanisms for 5G networks. Parts of his work have already been published in several conferences and journals (his work has been selected/awarded as a very interesting work in UBICOMM 2011 and received invitation for extended article journal version). Since 2008 he is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece.
