Zacharias Boufidis

Dr. Zachos Boufidis received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees (both with honours) from the Dept. of Informatics and Telecommunications, University of Athens, Greece, in 2000 and 2004, respectively. He joined the Communication Networks Laboratory (CNL) of the same department in 1998, and has been working on cognitive wireless networks, reconfigurable systems, autonomic communications, quality of service, mobility management, policy control, and charging in IP and Beyond 3G mobile communication networks. He is currently completing his Ph.D. on architectures and signalling protocols in cognitive reconfigurable mobile networks. Mr. Boufidis has technical and management experience in EU-funded research projects (E3, E²R II, E²R, MOBIVAS, ANWIRE) as well as in national initiatives (GUnet). He has articulated parts of his research results in (pre)standards bodies and research fora such as 3GPP, ETSI (official UoA delegate), SDR Forum, IEEE P1900, OMG, WWI, and WWRF. He holds an “Ericsson Award of Excellence in Telecommunications” and an award from the Greek Mathematical Society.
